JCI Queensway

Background
JCI Queensway is one of the 21 local chapters of JCIHK. It was formed, for the first time in the history of JCIHK, by a group of prospective members with the assistance of a few senior members in 1984. JCI Queensway is a mixed chapter using English as the official language. Originally it is formed with the individuals from a variety of professions. It seeks to harness this diversity to create positive change. Over the years, JCI Queensway has been actively involved in various projects with the aim of serving the community as well as providing training to its members. Now our aim targets at caring about the community, serving and rewarding the community. We Lead and Empower our members to actively engage with the chapter and grow to be leaders, fostering a genuine sense of pride in being part of JCI Queensway. Meanwhile, JCI Queensway feels proud of each member’s action to benefit and uplift the chapter. We Articulate our vision with Determination, calling for a sense of responsibility, involvement, and positive impact on the chapter and to society. Together, we say I am proud of JCI Queensway.
First half of 2026
As 2026 commenced, JCI Queensway—a proud local chapter of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Hong Kong—embarked on a transformative journey under the annual theme "Choose to Lead." The first quarter of the year served as a powerful testament to the organization's commitment to leadership development, community engagement, and fellowship.

The year began with a decisive statement of intent. On January 1, JCI Queensway published the first 2026 issue of its official publication, Progress, sharing the chapter’s strategic roadmap with various stakeholders. This was followed by a massive outreach effort on January 10 during Lion Service Day, where members introduced the mission of JCI to over 2,000 elderly citizens and numerous community organizations.
Growth remained a core focus, evidenced by the Prospective Member Orientation (PMO) on January 16, which successfully welcomed six new members. The month’s momentum peaked on January 17 at the Inaugural Ceremony, where a distinguished audience of 112 guests witnessed the official installation of the 2026 Board of Directors.

In February, the chapter pivoted toward internal capacity building. The "Leadership in Action" LD Training Workshop kicked off on February 7, featuring Past President Heidi Chong, who shared her expertise in Project Design with 12 dedicated members.

Fellowship remained the heartbeat of the organization. From a Lunar New Year hiking gathering with JCI Harbour and JCI Sha Tin to the SMC gathering at the Happy Valley Football Club, members found ample opportunities to connect. The month concluded with a vibrant Monthly Fellowship Gathering on February 27, where 25 members celebrated a "Chinese New Year Reunion," reinforcing the ties of the Queensway brotherhood.
The momentum accelerated in March with a focus on sophisticated leadership skills. On March 7, Past President Senator Terry Chan conducted a workshop on JCI Protocol, ensuring members maintain the highest professional standards. This was followed by the Monthly Fellowship Gathering on March 27, titled "The Art of Persuasion." Attended by 22 members and prospective members, this session provided a platform to master the nuances of influential communication—a vital tool for any emerging leader.

The quarter’s activities took a meaningful turn on March 28 with a visit to "Mindspace" This experiential visit allowed members to explore the history and progress of mental health treatment, fostering the empathy and social awareness required for modern, compassionate leadership.
By consistently opting for action over observation, the chapter has truly embodied the "Choose to Lead" spirit, laying a formidable foundation for a year of impactful growth. This is only the beginning.
Second half of 2026
Extraordinary Branding Awards 2026: A Year of Connection, Recognition, and Growth
The Extraordinary Branding Awards 2026 has successfully concluded another remarkable year, bringing together enterprises, industry partners, and community stakeholders in a program that extended far beyond a traditional awards ceremony. This year’s journey began in April with the Opening Ceremony and Nansha Innovation Study Tour, which set the tone for a year focused on cross-border collaboration, innovation, and regional connectivity. From Nansha to subsequent exchange visits in the Greater Bay Area, the program steadily built momentum by creating opportunities for businesses to engage with innovation resources, explore new partnerships, and broaden their strategic vision.

In May, the Sanya business exchange tour further expanded the program’s regional outreach, demonstrating the Awards’ role as a platform for enterprise development and business networking across different markets. The momentum continued in August with the 3-day-2-night Mainland enterprise study tour to Hong Kong, which featured site visits to Hong Kong Science Park, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, Cyberport, and Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. These visits highlighted Hong Kong’s strength as a bridge between innovation, commercialization, professional services, and talent development, while also showcasing the city’s role in supporting Mainland enterprises seeking to expand internationally.

This year’s program also aligned strongly with broader national and regional development priorities, including Hong Kong’s positioning as a “go global” platform for Mainland enterprises. By connecting visiting companies with innovation hubs, institutional support, and academic resources, the Awards translated policy direction into practical action. It demonstrated how Hong Kong can serve as a launchpad for enterprises aiming to expand overseas, while reinforcing the city’s value as a super connector and a super value-adder in the international business landscape.

The culmination of the program was the Awards Ceremony in 15 August, where 15 awards were presented across 7 categories: Catering and Retail, Interconnected Technology, Business Real Estate, Biopharmaceuticals, Smart Manufacturing, Start-ups, and Professional Services. This broad spectrum of categories reflects the diversity and vitality of Hong Kong’s business ecosystem. It also underscores the Awards’ mission to recognize excellence across industries, celebrate innovative branding, and encourage meaningful growth in both established and emerging sectors.

Throughout the year, the Extraordinary Branding Awards 2026 has functioned as more than an awards platform. It has been a journey of discovery, exchange, and recognition — one that connected Mainland and Hong Kong enterprises, fostered collaboration across sectors, and encouraged brands to think beyond local markets. The program has helped create lasting value for participating enterprises by opening doors to business connections, brand visibility, and regional cooperation.
As we celebrate this year’s achievements, we also recognize the collective effort behind them: the support of sponsors, supporting organizations, participating enterprises, judges, volunteers, and the organizing committee. Together, they have helped build a platform that not only honors excellence but also inspires future growth and cross-border opportunity.
